Rail communication of Kishoreganj with Dhaka and Chattogram resumed this evening, five hours after suspension following a train derailment in Bhairab.

The rail service resumed around 6:30pm after the 3 derailed compartments were retrieved, said Harunuzzaman Rumel, sub-inspector of Bhairab Railway Police Station.

Earlier, the three bogies of Chattogram-bound Nasirabad Express train, from Mymensingh, veered off the tracks in Jagannathpur area — adjacent to outer signal of Bhairab Railway Station around 1:30pm, said Ferdous Ahmed Biswash, officer-in-charge of Bhairab

On information, a rescue train from Akhaura reached the spot and started working to move the derailed bogies, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports, quoting sources at Bhairab Railway Station.
