A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Shariatpur Sadar upazila unit was suspended yesterday for posting a provocative Facebook post over the incident or reportedly “demeaning the Holy Quran” in Cumilla.

The BCL leader was identified as Shahidul Islam Dhali, religious affairs secretary of Sadar upazila unit BCL, reports our Shariatpur correspondent quoting Rasheduzzaman Shikdar, president of the upazila unit BCL.

The unit also issued a suspension letter in this regard yesterday.

Rasheduzzaman said they have suspended the BCL leader for the post that went against the norms of BCL.

Defending the Facebook post, the accused BCL leader Shahidul said he did not regret posting it.
