Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) claimed to have arrested two people, including one of the masterminds behind the attack on Hindu houses and shops in Rangpur’s Pirganj upazila.

Shaikat Mandal and his accomplice Robiul Islam were arrested during a raid at Tongi of Gazipur yesterday, said Khandaker Al Moin, Rab’s Legal and Media wing director, today.

At least 70 houses and shops in three villages of Hindu fishermen were torched and vandalised centring a Facebook post on October 17.
