The death toll in Saturday’s explosion in Jatrabari rose to five after another injured died last night at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Kabir Hossain (40) breathed his last around 9:45pm while undergoing treatment, said Dr Aiyub Hossain, resident surgeon of the institute.

“His (Kabir’s) body had 85 percent burn injuries,” said the doctor.

Kabir was a paint worker by profession and hailed from Shariatpur, said the victim’s nephew Afzal Gazi.
