App-based drivers’ union of Bangladesh, a platform of drivers providing ride sharing services, will go on work abstention tomorrow to press home their six-point demand.
The 24-hour work abstention will start at 12:01am, said Belal Ahmed, coordinator of the platform.
They announced the programme a few days back after talking to 35 unions of app-based service providers in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
Their demands include recognition of app-based service providers as labour, fixing 10 percent commission for all ride services, stop to police harassment and a dedicated parking place for them.
Belal Ahmed said there was no connection of their programme with today’s incident of an owner burning his motorcycle for being fined on several occasions.
