The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has pressed charges against Model Mariam Akhter Mou in a case filed with Mohammadpur Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.

CID Inspector Probir Kumar Ghosh, who is also the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka on Thursday, showing 14 people as prosecution witnesses.

In the charge sheet, the IO said the charges brought against Mou for possessing narcotics were primarily proven, and she should be brought under trial for the offence.

Detectives arrested Mou from her Mohammadpur residence on August 1 and seized 750 yaba pills and 12 bottles of foreign liquor from her residence.

Mou, however, during the drive, told reporters that there were no drugs at her house.

Following her arrest, DB Inspector Shishir Kumar Karmakar filed a case against Mou with Mohammadpur Police Station under Narcotics Control Act.

She was later placed on different terms of remand in the case.
